For this adventure, visit a magnificent 85 feet underground cave on a small island off the North-Western Coast of Trinidad. A morning of cruising, hiking and exploring!
On board your boat cruise from the marina in Chaguaramas past the smaller islands off the north-western peninsula for about half hour, before arriving on Gaspar Grande island. Here, disembark for a short guided 15 minutes hike to the cave entrance. The walk is mostly easy, and the pace is slow.
Venture down into a system of limestone caves and caverns approximately 85 feet underground. Your descent is via a sturdy metal stairway, with railings for extra support. Experience the marvels of the natural formations created over thousands of years, with stunning stalagmites and stalactites in shapes of animals and people – even one that inspires the nickname “The Buddha”. You can descend a bit further to a deep mysterious tidal pool, open to the sky above, called “The Blue Grotto”.
After this exciting adventure it’s now back to the boat. Time to enjoy another beautiful boat cruise back to the marina. Lean back and let the fresh breeze cool you down!
Option 2: Instead of the yacht, you can cruise in a smaller boat (20ft Bowen) at a reduced cost.
